Since I've started into shooting PRB's, I decided to fashion myself a patch knife of sorts.

When accompanying my Green-eyed Monster, shopping some Dollar Didcount Stores in our area, I spotted a blister pac of replacement blades (2) for some kind of hand shears @ $3.00.

They had the flat cutting edge I want, so I marked the shank, to cut/grind off the waste - leaving enough for a tang.
In the RH blade, in the pic, the formerly smooth/arced back of the blade can be seen, where I filed a few notches for finger purchase while cutting patches at the muzzle.

Then I sliced a 1/2" of Claro Walnut off of a chunk I've had laying around, and ran a saw kerf partially down the center for the knife tang to seat in.

I slathered some epoxy into the cut, and slid the knife tang in, after first painting the tang with the epoxy.

After the epoxy cured overnite, I rasped & sanded the Claro to the shape I wanted, and drilled a thong hole - the allpied some finish & a leather thong.

I hope it works out...........

If it does, I'm thinking of making a folding patch knife from the other blade in the kit - with a tail-type opener.

No wine, before it's time.

That is a very workable idea..short stout enough to cut the thicker patches no sharp point..I'll take 2...Good Job!....Dan
