There’s a beautiful gun stock inside that hunk of walnut, waiting for you to get her out!
well today i worked on inletting the trigger plate.
stock upside in my padded vise. it was just a smidgen loose.
I tightened the vise just half a smidgen.
you know that unmistakable sound of walnut cracking?
just now got out of the corner where i had to recite " I will not say mother..........." 100 times. I said it and meant it. until the next time.
warmed up some titebond 2 and spread the crack and flooded it.
crack went from the very front of the lock inlet at a 221/2 degree angle forward about 3 inches.
figured it was go good time to stop.

Well that sux, but at least it was fixable. Walnut can be a bear to work.
