A good friend left me a couple of pistols, when he died. And I have no idea where to start on loads for them or what is the max load for each. :hmm:

The .32 is a CVA Pioneer with a 7 3/4" Barrel.
The .45 ia a Jukar with a 10" barrel.

Both are cap locks and appear as if fired very little. I recently picked up a pistol powder measure and am itching to make smoke and fire with these rascals.
Perhaps you folks woulden't mind sharing your favorite target loads with me too.

I thank you all kindly for your help. :hatsoff:

I can't help you with the .32 but I have a pair of CVA Kentuckys which are probably not that much different than the Junkar. I use 15 grains, .440 RB with a .020 patch in both of them. Mild shooting and accurate.

I would start at about 10 grains in the .32 as it has a very short barrel. Gradually raise the amount of powder until you like the result. I would think 15 gr. would be about the maximum as you would be wasting powder (unburned) with any more. Try it and see.

I don't have any pistols in .32 yet, but I have a T/C Patriot in .45 that is about the same barrel length as your Jukar. It shoots nicely on a 30 grain charge of 3F. Figure that 40-45 grains would probably be the max recommended load.
