Just a comment from a very old ,old fart. This forum is turning into a very good gun building educaton location. Keep up the good work. Very old Bob

Calm it down bob or were gonna have to put the restraints on!
haha just kidding, this place is a valuable thing to have around.

really old Bob: We thank you for your kind words.

When I joined this Forum, the Gun Builder's Bench didn't exist. The only other forum that had this kind of information seemed to me to be almost exclusively aimed at custom guns to the point of excluding any talk about the common Factory Kits.
As I had built several of these Factory Kits, as well as a number of "pre carved" guns, I felt that the addition of this Forum would be a great source of information for the home builder.

Fortunately, Claude (the owner) agreed and set up the Gun Builders Bench.

We now have some of the best hobby and professional builders in the world as members and to my thinking we have become "The" web site for muzzleloader builders.

One of the things you may notice is no question is dumb, or has been answered too many times not to be answered again.

Stick around, and feel free to give us any thoughts you might have about any question or advice that is given.
It's from guys like you that we all learn.

zonie :)

You're definately right, Bob. I never cease to be amazed at the diversity of great information and general fun chatter I've found here. I rarely visit many other forums anymore because I have finally found "home."

Zonie,
I can give a big amen to that. The wealth of knowledge is outweighed only by the tolerance for us newbies. We know the questions are very basic (OK dumb) but they are never treated that way. Good job

Thought I was calm and congratulatory too. I meat it,A good place for these kids to learn
Bob its a good place for sure. We have quite a age span here on this form. I wonder what that maybe, "Oldest and youngest" not that it makes any diffrence. But if you look at it with the years of knowledge in shooting of all kinds. WOW

I'm getting close to being an 'old fart' myself. I just thought I knew something about BP pistols until I found this forum. I've been shooting Capper muzzlers for 20 years, and found out I don't know jack!
As near I can recollect I've only posted two helpful hints here, one concerning C&P revolvers and one concerning Capper muzzler. But I've learned at least a dozen tricks here. Great forum.

Just kidding”¦This is a extremely helpful site with some very knowledgeable people on it who are willing to share.

Any and all advice would be welcome and I, after many years of building "these danged things", still haven't arrived at the point where I can't learn new ideas and methods from "newbies" as well as experienced builders. Hope you'll contribute to the forum and everyone will appreciate your experience and expertise....Fred
