Made from leafsprings?
No, I had a mold made to produce them. They were cast and then surface ground. I polished them after the grinding. I don't remember exactly what the metal makeup was, but they had a moderate amount of carbon in them, and they sharpen nicely. The one with the sawtooth back I did with a 3 cornered file and turned the handle parts on my lathe. The wood is cherry stained dark.
