Hey all! Here are 2 knives, both 1084 steel and walnut. The first one is a small 5 inch knife with my first try with any filework. The other is a big 8 inch bushcraft knife, sheath is suede side out intentionally, wanted to see what it would look like, probably wont do it again though. So what do ya'll think?

The first one is cute...and it has an interesting spine....
But,.....OMG! look at that big nick in the middle of that tomahawk blade.. :shake: :nono:

Thanks! Haha, manure happens...I think that was a rock that did that, I threw too far:)

Oh wait, I forgot, that wasn't my hawk!!!! It was my buddy's I grabbed to take those pics :rotf:

Nice file work, real classy touch. I see you have went with the same pin placement, that will be your trade mark when you are a famous knife maker. Very cool, you are doing some fine work.

Nice looking utility knives. I think the file work takes away from them knife, but each have their own preferences.
You need to seal or stabilize the handles Prior to installation, as if of mot & the knife gets washed allot, the walnut
normally will fail you with age & extensive use.

All in all, nice job.

Thank you! I just wanted to play around with the file work, I'll actually start using patterns and whatnot on my next ones. I was actually just going to scrap this blade due to some imperfections till I did the file work on it for practice and actually kinda liked it! Very famous? I don't know about that but thank you very much for the complement:)!

Stabilized wood is definiately important if it's going to be washed a lot as you have said. I have used stabilized woods before and am looking into "cactus juice" stabilization that you can just do at home rather than sending the wood out. Thank you!
