:) Here's a couple of new horns that I just finished. It's amazing what you can do with a little (no a lot) of help from fellow forum members. I had a few questions during the building of these horns and all I had to do was ask and there was plenty of advice. Don't want to start naming names cause I might miss someone, but you guys know who you are. THANKS

Beautiful! I hope to try hornmaking one of these days, and I'll be happy if I can produce something half that good!

What did you use for a scrimshaw tool?

Outstanding! Doesn't it feel great knowing that you made them yourself? I'm slowly replacing my gear that I bought with gear that I've made,it's one of the aspects of this hobby that keeps my interest fresh. What's your next project, shooting pouch, powder measure?

Fla Flinter:
I tried a couple of different things for the scrim shaw . The best results were achieved with a 1/8" drill bit that I honed down to a real fine point, then I inserted it into a piece of 1/2" dowel. The drill steel was hard and kept its point good. For colour I used India ink, and cleaned it up with 000 grade steel wool.

Haven't given much thought to my next project, the wife says it's time for me to start thinking about working instead of playing. :: I have a small engine repaire buisness, and it's starting to get pretty busy now with summer comming on. I've got most all the gear that I need, but I must admit I get more of a kick out of building the stuff than I do using it.

I know about small engines. I just put a 1776cc engine in my old '65 VW bus. So many hobbies, so little time :(
