Here are a couple of projects I recently finished. The tinder horn was a leftover from making a small powder horn. It's my first attempt at scrimshaw. That's a homemade fire striker too, made out of part of the spring part of a big commercial plumber’s snake that snapped while they were using it to attempt, unsuccessfully, to unclog a drain without having to get a backhoe in and dig up the yard. Hey! I had nothin' else to do with $2000, right? (My brown bess money! I'll have to wait a bit longer I guess. :( )

The knife I purposely made looking a bit rough. It's my 4th attempt at the same knife, but the first one that I was reasonably pleased with and that didn't snap. (I think I got the heat treating thing a little bit more under control now, thanks to everyone for the advice! ) It's sharper than it looks like it would be, it can shave the hair off the back of my arm.

Hello from Germany,

nice work, especially the leather bag for the knife. Would you make such a nice thing for me too?

Regards
