I probably purchased more caps than I immediately need. If any of you guys are hurtin' and in VT around the NEK, feel free to let me know. I would be willing to give you a tin or two.
I travel through Northern NH and ME occasionally as well.

That is very kind of you!

I wish I was in your neck of the woods, I have not been able to find #11’s in months!

I had to buy the “antique” #11’s that were being used as decorations in a gun shop just to shoot. Paid $150 dollars for 9 tins and 9 of 10 caps don’t work!

I just got a primer “reloading kit” and I am going to try reloading all my “antique” percussion caps tomorrow.

Will post results

Wow, will you look at that! That's pretty cool aside from what you had to pay. Well, and the fact that only 1/10 of the tin is even viable.
I didn't have to pay that much, but more than I ever have unfortunately.
I've been hearing ammunition and components are starting to show back up. I think between the panic buying, and government contracts being filled, it was just more than the supply chain could, or should have needed to handle. People are nuts. I guess to fulfill some of the government military contracts Federal had to import centerfire primers overseas from Europe. Imagine that...
I'm sure muzzleloading components are last priority.

I looked into one of those soda can punches that some of those reloading kits come with. I was curious what the shape of the punch face looked like to set the crimp. Never went any further with it, but definitely come back with some results if you get a chance. Really curious about that.
Do you think you'll try cleaning the duds out and reloading them?

Just realized I am not supposed to post about reloading metallic anything, that might include percussion caps, so I am deleting this.

Ya you know what, I think that's who made the punch and die i was looking at.
That makes sense about the adhesion and shrinkage being an issue.
I wonder if anybody lacquers over the compound or anything like that.

I thought about women’s hairspray as a thin adhesive

Not sure how rigid the posting rules are, can. I talk about reloading percussion and musket caps?

There's an idea right there.
I certainly believe so.
Reloading rimfire or centerfire primers on the other hand, as far as I am aware, would be against the guidelines.
