A ‘Walk in the Woods’ brought a smile to my face and kindled lots of memories of similarly idyllic days afield in the Fall. Time to take my old Belgian SXS double out to chase some grouse in the deep fir forests of the NW while the larches and alders still have their color. Thanks for sharing your day with us!

Sounds like a great day with a better ending..
Packed full of memories ... Like a dream come to life... Congratulations I hope you have many more times a field that go the same way

Enjoy your hunt as well and thanks!

Congratulations on a fine day, fine deer, and fine rifle. Next time I want to see a beautiful horn dangling somewhere with the rifle, lol.
Thanks buddy- when I am tree-stand hunting I just use a belt pouch with three pre- measured powder tubes, round ball and patches, short starter, a turn screw, an extra flint and a small pan primer. It’s less bulk and fuss.

Now, now - you’re not allowed to be practical. Bulk and fuss is what 18th century shooting is all about.
Our motto is “why do it the easy way when the hard way is an option?”
(You know I’m poking fun)

Sorry I'm late but wow, what a fantastic story of a grand day 👌.
Good on ya buddy. You live in a beautiful place 🙂👍🏻
Thanks Britsmoothy. I have enjoyed reading your hunting stories so much I thought maybe some folks would appreciate a little story of this day's hunt.
You inspire folks, ya know :thumb:
