Yours are in much better shape. Mine are from the same time period, circa 1840 and made in Augsberg, Germany by Johannes Mond, with cannon type ends on the barrels. They are also numbered 1 & 2, circa 1840. 1 has more wear and tear, so probably it was the daily carry gun. Similar architecture... Also a matching SXS Shotgun in damascus.
My curiosity, what are the 1 & 2 numbers meant for on the grips? Just to signify a matched pair or possible for dueling purposes?

The Pistol Cases are original with the Weapens.
I know my pistols won't have an original case, as it was not there when I bought them. But, a contemporary case with period correct accoutrements would make someone else a nice collection, later. I would like to find someone who can make me one.
