A Happy Discovery For .54 Shooters

There's an older RCBS mold #45-280-M.
And the base plug for this .45 minie ball has a 0.525" base plug.

So if the .45 cavity was machined to meet the .525" diameter...

and one or two C-ring grooves were cut in the base plug to give adjustable weights

it could make a good paper patch adjustable weight hollow base mold for .54 shooters wanting longer range accuracy with velocity retention and lots of penetration.
