I did this TC rifle for my ex brother in law decades ago. It started out as a run of the mill TC Hawken flinter and I put on a nice curly maple stock, iron mountings, filled in where the sights went and put on a fixed rear and a front sight made out of a silver nickel and brass base, iron ramrod pipes. Since the Fajen blank had the patchbox routing already I inlaid a piece of plain steel over it. I would have loved to have been able to engrave something in the iron patch box cover.

Turned out pretty nice. At least it looks better than it started out.

Hard to believe that your muzzleloader started life out as a TC Hawken!

Love everything you have done to it!

Looks like the only thing that is still TC is the lock and barrel?

It now looks like a very nice single key, Plains type rifle.

Love the stock and patchbox. Sure is very pretty wood! Love what you did to the triggerguard, buttplate, nosecap!

Would love to transform mine into something that nice!

Did you make that stock? Also where did you get the hardware? Triggerguard, buttplate, nosecap, sights

Depending on how much money I would have to sink into the project, I would consider trying to do mine like that and only hope that it would come out as beautiful as yours!

Appreciate those wonderful pictures you posted! Gives the rest of us options that can be done if we choose.

Thankyou,
Respectfully, Cowboy

I agree, great job
But it is no TC.
It is a custom gun made with a tc lock and barrel. If I used a barrel and lock from track of the wolf, it would not be a track of the wolf rifle.

Glad folks like it. Cowboy, I did that rifle so many years ago I can't remember where I bought the components. It did start out as a stock T/C rifle my BIL owned and hunted with. He won that Fajen stock blank at a DU dinner I believe and asked me if I could do something with it.

The only parts left that are from the original rifle are the lock, triggers, barrel and under rib. I made the toeplate, lock bolt escutcheon, thimbles, front sight, and faux patch box. The buttplate, rear sight, nose cap, and trigger guard I bought from various sources but I can't remember where. Sorry I can't be any more specific than that. I'm sure Don Stith could come up with parts too.

Actually I never owned it. I gave it back to the original owner, my brother in law. It was hard to give up.

So, the only T/C parts left are the lock and barrel?
I don't think you can call it a T/C anymore.....

Rename it a Reddogge rifle.... :hatsoff:
