This is my second Fusil de Chasse build from Pecatonica River. I had an enjoyable time making this gun and a great time shooting this smoothbore today. I fired it at a target of 35 yards distance in a kneeling position, using patched (.018 pillow ticking) cast round ball (.580 cal) with 90 grains of 2f Goex powder. It took a few shots to find the elevation and then it was doing well. The ignition is fast and loading this baby was a breeze.
I will be posting this gun in the classified section soon but wanted to share it here.
I think Pecatonica provides a good 'kit' with this Fusil de Chasse.

Mornin' from Onslow NC! Beautiful piece! I just got my first ever kit which is Tulle Fusil.... from Pecatonica. I LOVE brass but went with steel on this one. Any chance you'd be willing to reach out over email so I can pick your brain?

My first steps are to order that plan drawing from ToTW and then start collecting whatever tools I don't yet have. After that I'm still scratchin' my head, haha.

Chris!

Hi Chris- I'd be glad to share my little bit of knowledge with you. The fusil is my favorite kit gun :) I can send you an email. Might be easier to start off with PM's here. I will send you one now.

She’s a beauty! Is the stock cherry? How was the kit compared to others?

It's a Map;e stock that I stained. As for a kit build, there were no issues with the FdC. The hardest part was lining up the tang bolt to the boss on the trigger plate but that's just a case of very careful measuring. The two I built were really enjoyable.
