A Plug for Our Flintlock Sport, From the Land of Unmentionables

I just got this email from the NRA with an excerpt from The American Hunter article. It is a good read and hopefully acts as a draw to our sport for those not yet initiated on the wonderful flintlock. It is well written. I am sure some will recognize that the author, and my posting, is essentially preaching to the choir. But here is an uncommon example of the needed cross pollination that will keep our sport alive and well. Enjoy.

It ain't the first time. I recently ran across some articles in the American Rifleman. The first from December 1934 described the benefits of the crescent butt plate and how it was utilized in woodland warfare. The second from September 1935 described the flintlock rifle and how to shoot it. Not much changed there. The purpose of that article was to reminisce on the flintlock since it was soon to disappear from the shooting sports and hunting. Now that i have let this cat loose, I will have to copy and post the articles in the Media forum.
