New addition to the 'collection', a power tester, gives a 'relative' powder strength comparison between different brands or batches.

Use:
  • Put the SAME volume of powder in that vertical 'barrel' and close the cover
  • Fire it and the discharge moves that arm with the lid or cover on it, where that arm rotates UP and around until it runs out of energy and catches on the starred 'ratchet'
  • The more ratchets or further around the ratchet wheel it 'clocks', then the stronger that the powder is
  • Some ratchets have numbers on the points, but they're really meaningless, less a comparative or relative measurement only
  • Example - One lower power lot/batch might register a '3', while say new Goex powder might rate a '5' and then your typically 'hot' Swiss brand powder might be a '6'

Neat stuff. My brother gave me an old DGW kit that test powder from many years back. I have yet to put it together and I forgot where I put it!:ghostly:

I think you are lucky to be able to find these old relics. Also I have had the same problem with trying to post photos. It beats me how it happens.
