Very cool Highrocker! I always assumed the round faced locks I've seen on these were English. I don't know why. I didn't know that the wooden trigger guards were protected with a metal strap either. Guess I've only seem them from the side in photos. :thumbsup:
 
Actually, most do not have this reinforcement. This one is unusual in that it does - probably because it is a 'high end' Jaeger.

That certainly is a beautiful classic.
I have an article published in the American Rifleman back in the 1970s about Jaegers. It features a great collection and busts many of the myths surrounding Jaegers. It is a great article. It is saved on a floppy disc but I can transfer to a CD. Any ideas on how I can share this? I am not looking to make any money, just want to share.
