So I have two 1st Gen 4" barreled 1849s. One is a 5 shot, common, and one a 6 shot, not so common. I can see the cylinder OD is the same and they just cut down on the distance between chambers. My question is where else is the change made, hand, hammer, bolt or trigger? The few parts I have seen listed make no reference to 5 or 6 shot. I can't wrap my head around how they could get the timing right with the same 5 shot parts.
Thanks all
Wayne
