A simple tip from the work bench

Hey guys had to replace a flask valve/cap on SILs flask. The old one was hurtin big time. We all have talked about the itzie bitzie teenie weenie screws that somehow seem to find a hiding place once you drop them.
Well I had my bases covered today for loss, but had a another issue. The IBTWS are slotted and how do clumsy arthritic hands get the little buggers started? Here I show my approach: beeswax in the screw slot, then insert the screwdriver. If ya don't have beesewax, a little chunk of Saran Wrap in the slot will bind the IBTWS to the screwdriver also.
Hope my SIL knows he will owe me beer.

I would recommend the use of magnetic metal pans, available from Harbor Freight for a couple of bucks.

Good idea Larry O. My late father n law showed me how to use a small piece of putty to hang on to a screw. I made a magnetic parts pan by putting a small magnet on a metal pie pan.

Got magnetic pan when it can work.
The set screws are brass.
Good idea though.

Important thing about using magnetic pans . Don't take your lock appart and throw the fly and tumbler etc in a mag. pan. Those tiny parts can get magnetized and perhaps the fly might not flip back and forth when it should.

My magnetic pan for small parts is a cap tin with a piece of fridge magnet on the bottom, I was going to glue it on when the penny dropped
