A nice little Christmas surprise this morning with ten (!) boxes of long discontinued .54 Hornady Great Plains. Definitely not a common find these days! Love them or hate them, I’m excited to try them for antelope hunting next year.

Well..., that explains the empty slot on the shelf at the gun store......

I've shot them, and find no fault in them. My friends 54 TC Hawken loves them, but he won't use them, saving them for "big stuff".
Merry Christmas

That lube could be quite old. Keeping it or removing it?
Is your North Country here in Michigan?
Oh it’s definitely quite old, I think these were discontinued about 5 years ago but these could very well be much older. Hornady claimed you could you use them even with dried lube but I planned on melting it off and re lubing. Nah, my North Country is west of you over here in Minnesota
