Just out of curiosity what is everyone's loads for PRB's and conical's out of a T/C Hawken with the 1/48" barrel? I'm just wondering what everyone else's recipes are, thanks.

In my .54 T/C Hawken, I shoot a .530 round ball, .0186 pillow ticking patch with Trapper's Pure Mink Oil in front of 110 gr Goex FFg and can keep the groups within 2" at 100 yards.

My TC 50 cal Hawken, likes 90 grains of 2F Triple Seven and a 385 grain Hornady great plains bullet, with felt wad over powder. My 54 Cal Hawken likes 120 grains of 2F Triple Seven, felt wad over powder and 390 grain Hornady great plains bullets. Use CCI # 11 mag caps and hot shot nipples. My 45 cal TC Hawken likes Hornady .440 ball and 70 grains of 2F Goex.

I no longer have a .54 TC but when I did it favored 80 grains of ff goex and a prb. My .50 likes the same with 70 grains.

When I shot conicals in the .50 I favored 100 grains of ff but after getting a chronograph I dropped it to 80 grains with very little loss in velocity.

My longest shot ever with an ml was on an elk with the .50 and a maxi over 70 grains of ff at 130 yards with ok results.
