New to muzzleloading and this forum...hello everyone!

Been casting and handloading centerfire for a few years. Recently bought a Lee 2-cavity ball/minie combo. I have a batch of home made case lube that is a 50/50 mix of lanolin and castor oil.

I have Alox, but was thinking of using the home brew to field lube the minie balls. Can anyone think of drawbacks or problems that may be caused by the ingriedents?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. :)

Your home brew will work a lot better than the Alox so give it a try on the Minie'.

It might be a bit too thick/stiff for a patched roundball though.

like to hear your finding after few shots
for me criso warmed at home then dipped patchs maybe add some beez wax dip patches let them air dry
i like keep things simple and able to spit patch those that are not soaked in same bagy
