Fortunately I was the only one at my range, so I could spend a hour debating amount of powder and whether it would blow up if I did it wrong.
The two big holes are mine. Only problem is that the .600 balls with the .018 patch proved nearly impossible. Need to get a micrometer. Also ordered thinner patches and .595's from Track of the Wolf.
Still, very, very happy!

Nice! Just sent those pics to a buddy who played one of the main supporting characters on that Sharpe's show with Sean Bean. He'll get a kick out of seeing someone actually shooting a Baker.

I like your pool ball target. It’d be fun to have a poker one too. Why would you think it would blow up or were you just having fun with your story?

I had never fired blackpowder before...and I wasn't positive about the amount and type of powder...and I was at the range by myself...and the French Army was on maneuvers on the next lane over...
