Is there a way to make steel aged with out waiting. I have some parts that I want to look aged and didn't know if there was a way to do this quickly. Thanks.

Apply cheap cold blue, allow it to dry, spray or submerge in bleach. Be careful, it's fast. 10-30 min. is usually enough. Scotch-brite the parts back to the finish you want.

:rotf: Bury pasrts in the dog pen, poodles preferably. It ages them nicely. Try it you will like it.

I've used Birchwood Casey selenium blue, then heated it with a propane torch. The blue fades to a mottled grey that pretty well matches my pre-WWII Winchester 66 pump. If that's the look you're seeking.

There's a guy in north AL that burys stuff in a hog pen and then sells it to yankees as antiques. Whatever works. I only like new cars and young women. Everything else looks better old and used. :winking:

I'm assuming you also prefer them to also both be expensive, fast, and loose. :rotf: Bill
