Unless eye dominance is a problem you should always have both eyes open as you lose depth, speed and size perception when you close one eye.
Me too! I haven't hit the target yet but, I've shot 3 people, 4 dogs, 1 horse and a Chevy Tahoe. Both closed. It's more challenging that way..........
I am probably in the minority but, I was raised/trained as a "sightless shooter" I don't use and/or remove the sights from my rifles/pistols, and shoot both eyes open. I'll probably get lectured for this but, I've been shooting this way for 40 years. Not changing now.How many here aim their iron sight rifles with both eyes open? I am curious if it works well for people. I have better vision in my non dominant left Eye than my right which has gotten worse over the years, and I shoot right handed. I’m Thinking this may be the ticket for making those 40-50 yard headshots on tree rats like I used to. I hate the though of wearing glasses so hopefully this will do the trick

I read many years ago about the advantage of keeping both eyes open when shooting. I tried it and "never looked back", to turn a phrase. Every one's eyes are different, but "try it, you'll like it"How many here aim their iron sight rifles with both eyes open? I am curious if it works well for people.
