Ok, maybe it’s ironwood…… or just a very well executed build. Very nice gun WITH a steel butt plate.

Guess I’m wrong about seeing a butt plate in the photographs. My apologies.

No problem about thinking it has a buttplate, it is very well shaped and at quick glance it looks like it has one, but does not. The rifle ways rite at 8 pounds, not a precise measurement just me holding it on the bathroom scale. It does appear to be round bottom rifleing. Pictures are of grooves and butt area.

Congratulations on your sale .. I built this rifle for a client from Latrobe Pa , delivered it at the BushyRun gunshow a fair number of years ago ..
There is no buttplate but has a sliding wood box .. which is sorta cool !!
