We need to be aware of both our nation's faults and its glories, and there have been a lot of both throughout history. Human nature being what it is, often the best and the worst are present in the same individual. The thing that makes the United States of America great is the ideals expressed in the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence, the preamble to the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

This nation has not always lived up to those ideals, and it is important to note that, so we repeat those errors less often, but having those ideals and (mostly) trying to maintain them puts the US well ahead of many other nations.

kilborn,

After reading your post in the welcome forum, I was hoping you would contribute to this topic. GW

GW,
Thanks for that. Another thing to consider about a show like this is its hard to pack the entire history of the United States into a 12 hour storyline that would make everyone happy.

And to the poster who liked the 360 series; Thanks!

It should not surprise anyone that a left leaning producer would do a program like “The Story of Us”. It is also not surprising that everybody on this forum would be unimpressed with it. Most of these folks are center to right leaning. Most have Christian morals. It slap doesn’t bother me that misplaced guns are used because I imagine cost has something to do with that.
My father was a History professor at Auburn, the University of Alabama and taught at the War College at Maxwell. I picked up a bit of history along the way. I am fascinated in the topics that were decided to have points made of them and the ones left out. Major points. I also quit watching by the time it got to the Civil War.
I just found it lacking and I also think programs like this do a disservice to our population whom will come away thinking it is totally factual.

I loved all the 360 Series shows! Do some more, soon.

Yeah, like some 360 shows on the F&I war battles, AWI Battles, like Saratoga, Kings Mountain, Brandywine, Cowpens....that'd be neat! :hatsoff:
