Does anyone know if this stuff is still available? The web site seems to be real old and not much help. I had used it many years ago and thought it worked ok.

American Pioneer Powder had a fire and explosion at their Whitewater, CO plant several years ago. They are back in business.

The latest APP Powder is sold under the name of Shooters World. The powder is called Shooters World Multi-Purpose Black 3F and is available at Grafs and Sons and Midsouth.. The powder is also available in round sticks. It's called Shooters World Hunter Pellet.

i have used and tested the Shooters World 3F powder. The velocity and smoke are like Black MZ, an obsolete APP powder.

I think it's now known as Shooters World BP substitute.

Thanks - I would like to try various substitute powders, but actually finding them to buy isn't easy. Some seem to be outrageously expensive.

So Shooters World Multi Purpose Black is the replacement for American Pioneer Powder.

A fellow at my club says he bought a large quantity of American Pioneer Powder when he saw a Sportsman's Warehouse advertisement closing it out at something like $10/lb a few years back. He seemed pretty happy with the stuff but when I run into him he's always shooting blackpowder.

I'm good for awhile with my current supply of the black but if I run short I might have to try the Shooter's World stuff. I haven't done a deep dive search for posts on the product but I'd be curious to hear from users of it please.

I haven't been able to find any for sale. This "out of stock" on everything is getting old. Maybe it's time to find a new hobby- golf - picture puzzles -knitting or something.

Right now everything is outrageously expensive and "out of stock" is pretty common everywhere I shop. Things will eventually return to some semblance of normalcy... though we may have a civil war first... or maybe an actual nuclear war. Who knows? Keep your powder dry...

Where in Wisconsin are you? I am a bit South of De Pere/Green Bay.
