I have an old CVA with a Junkar barrel on it my dad bought me some 40 years ago. Was playing around with it and drilled it to put in a new touch hole liner from Mr. Jim Chambers as it always had an ignition problem. Once I drilled it out I noticed the original touch hole was drilled at an angle towards the front of the barrel. Also, the new Straight hole had partially hit the breech plug. It seems that they did this on purpose. I have read that the breech plugs on these barrels are very hard to remove. Do you think this will effect the ignition of the gun? I don't think it will effect the safety of the gun as the breech is screwed in pretty deep. But am not sure. Have any of you ever seen a touch hole drilled at an angle before? Please let me know your thoughts. Thank You in advance.
