Here's the only other picture I have of the deer. This is my son, Reed. I need to thank my beautiful wife for helping me drag this deer in and out of the bed of a pick-up truck. My father is recovering from a surgical procedure and couldn't help with moving it. She wasn't too happy about the deer urine that ran down her arm, but she's a real trooper.
Reed stuck around for the entire field-dressing process. That boy was full of questions and interested in what was going on.
Won't be long that boy will be field dressing his own buck.
BTW, they drag easier AFTER the field dressing. They do call it "FIELD" dressing for a good reason ya know...
And they load into a truck easier by yourself if you put 'em on a board first. 8' 2x12. Put deer on board, pick up one end and sit it on the tailgate, pick up other end and slide in.
Might need to tie the deer to the board if the truck is a tall one...
What's funny is that I know all of this. It somehow " felt " easier the other way. At any rate, I wouldn't have got a dead deer to pee on my wife, otherwise.
Hang on to that lady! Not many wives would live through a 'whizz-o-rama'! Try, "Congratulations dear, you've lived through the initiation"...might work...then again.... :haha:
