I purchased this shotgun at the Rocky Mountain Rhondy in Creed years ago. The locks read Scott Co London. This is a famous company that built this style in the 1850s 60s, BUT, there were a lot of Belgium knock offs also. I never got this gun inspected for authenticity or usability but I have hunted Dove with it for a number of seasons with a light load. You should see the looks I got hunting this smoke pole. It is Damascus Steel as you can see and the stock has been repaired in the past but is rock solid. It has an incredible patina and is an solid mantle piece or light loaded hunter, at your own risk of course. One nipple has been replaced but I have not had the time to do both. Pics speak for themselves. As is

$450 plus shipping so call it an even $500

Not sure what you by ring. it clangs with a hollow resonance but doesnt ring like a bells drift. what does a ring mean? You got me curious.
Dull thud = barrels delaminated I.E . Coming apart
I usually remove barrels and hold muzzle down from breech end and tap with handle of hammer lightly not hard literally just tap with the wooden handle I have one that’s delaminating (wall hanger) and a Belgian 15 ga that rings like church bells
