This is a very solid and shootable antique .44 percussion longrifle. Hammer a sort of Bedford style. It's 36" barrel has a grey patina. The bore has good, sharp rifling with minor pitting throughout. Might scrub better using the blue scrubbing pads. The Maple stock hs faux striping with a pleasing pattern. One of the brass rod furrels was broken out and replaced with a copper one. Wood was lost along the channel as a result. Small chip at toe and small crack opposite lock at screw. Otherwise, the usual bumps and scratches associated with age and use. Brass fitted. The engraved lock is stamped WARRANTED. Double set triggers work as they should. A good restoration project requiring minimal work. $575 + Shipping.
