that i don't know.
i only have something in mind, which i will gladly share:
looking at the brass in pic#5 and compare this to the brass in pic#7. i can see a difference in color of the brass. (i really whish we could have some more and more detailed pics...)

so it might be possible that the triggerguard was changed at some point. and here is another guess: maybe that change (to a maybe longer?) triggerguard was the reason to re-establish the strap button, 'cause of the length of the triggerguard.

Interesting idea.. it all looks totally untouched. I have seen jaegers exactly this style with both types of trigger guard so it's unclear why, I don't think its just a date issue

yes, maybe. maybe not.
if the "new" triggerguard is bigger then the one that was on it before the change, how would you see anything if the work is done properly?

(just a thought...)

Interestingly ( or not) I see that auction gun also has the rear sling button in the same place as mine..

OK, "Michael Spöck in Neustadt" worked in a part of the city of vienna called "Neustadt" - that part still exists today.

Spöck was a gunsmith and its earliest pieces are known from the middle of the 1740's. so it is much likely that this type of guns have been made in a larger number to be supplied to any army/regment/small kindom/or ? in austria or germany.

the location of the strap button is still not clear. since on such old guns, the strap button was installed as i discribed already. maybe its positioning changed over the years, just as markings, making and such improved?

anyway - you have a very interesting piece of history! congrats - hey, wanna trade? i have a very good CVA kentucky rifle kit to trade with ;) ;)
