Wow,thanks for this information...Any idea what the value is,even ballpark idea?It started off as a smooth bore French St Etienne or Charleville model 1815 flintlock . Then it was converted into a percussion musket and a rear sight added
likely around the 1851 date that is stamped into the wooden stock.
In it's original form it was likely in Napoleon's army.
