don't quote me but "stabalized" usually means the piece (whatever it is) had an epoxy(?) of some sort forced into the pores under heat n pressure so normal changes in weather (heat, cold, humidity)won't effect it. The piece won't expand n contract as a untreated piece will. Bone and antler and teeth(bear fangs etc) will some times crack as it ages n drys out, stabelizing helps stop that from happening as I understand it>

Thanks. I didn't think it could be effected that much. I was thinking of doing a knife handle out of an antler crown.
