Thank you Gentleman for showing your work and freely given ideas. I am impressed as always at the level of Craftsman we have in the good ol' USA!!!
Had a long talk with a couple of friends who shoot/reenact here in Indiana (yeah surprised me too :idunno: ) and the disussion on why there are not more surviving period accoutrements.
The conclusion of bone/antler/wood/bamboo powder measures are they were tools and if they broke/lost/etc that they were thrown away and most that survived were metal of some type. A bit more precious than ol' bone or antler. AND more likely to be handed down too.
