Recently I was browsing in a local pet store and found an unlikely scource for antler pieces for projects. They had a pretty good selection of them.
 
saw some in my pet store, but they didn't look as though they would make anything useful ... i'll go through the bin again...
 
Check with your local deer processing place, a lot of times folks don't take their antlers from their deer or they do not come to pick up their meat and the horns are left, all for free.

I use to get garbage cans full of horns if I would take them for my labor.

Also check with your local taxidermist for free antlers.
 
YEPPER DEER PROCESSING BUTCHERS WILL HAVE BARRELS FULL THEY OFTEN WILL LET GO CHEAP N SOMETIMES FREE JUST TO GET RID OF THEM, A BUDDY PICKED UP TWO 55 GAL DRUMS FULL JUST FOR THE SAKE OF HAULING THEM AWAY,. cheap sob won't let me have any, but guessen Christmas is comeing n very well may be my Christmas present HAHAA CANTANKEROUS OL GEEZER
