I can always try again. Albany county in NYS are not gun friendly.

Check with your local Scout council. The summer camps are almost always short on volunteers to help with the shooting sports. Be warned that it will require the NRA cert and it is not recognized by 4H

And if the county and the state headquarters do not return your phone calls or reply to emails? Turning away volunteers is a sure way to destroy any program. Think sports and no volunteers equals no youth sport.

Through your local club, find out who your County Shooting Sports Coordinator is. Go knock on their door! Better yet, find out when they’re shooting, and go to a practice.

Our club for YEARS, like 15, gave the 4H shotgunners $2,000 for clays and $2,000 for expenses, ammo, travel did not care. Gave em a check. They left our club to try greener pastures. The shotgun team no longer exists. Their choice. County will do nothing. To create a program here, you must go through the state office for approval. They have no interest. The way it is. Kids lose.
