I'm not even sure if I'm spelling it right, but my fiance thinks she would get a kick out of portraying a "lady of the evening".
Does anyone have any suggestions or sources we could look into? Right now, we're pretty much at a loss.
Thanks!

If you are into the 18th early 19th centuries you should Google

A Harlot's Progress by Hogarth

it is a very realistic and detail accurate series of prints showing the moral decline and demise of a country girl "gone wrong".

You should also do a thorough academic (not literal/ don't even try to blame that one on me!) study of the "trade". It has not always been viewed in the same light. Each era and culture has had a different attitude.

Daniel Boone's oldest daughter, Suzanna, proudly claimed the title of first prostitute beyond the mountains. It was claimed that she had a natural calling for the work and enjoyed her career very much. A true Boone!

Yeah...
I guess now that you mention it, that does make a lot more sense!

Now that I realize it's "harlot" and now "charlotte", that's a step in teh right direction.
I will definately nose around and see if I can find that book.
Thanks!
