Curious, any new locks (about 5-5.5") approximate these?

I don't see too many pre-1700 locks available.

If you wanted to fork over about $2000+ to several real fine custom gunsmiths you shouldn't have any trouble getting a lock like that built from scratch. I'm not aware of any production lock that equals the quality of the higher quality originals in fit and finish. That lock was likely the work of multiple craftsman who specialized in lock work. Even with todays technology nobody has figured out how to make a machine duplicate a piece of art such as the lock you have illustrated.

Oh just looking for a production lock that approximates that time period or looks similar. Most locks I know of are 18th or 19th century ones. Ignore the engraving.

Though a much later lock, there are a couple with the same basic plate shap that could be modified to reflect the same characteristics of this very early lock.

Mantons and Bailles locks, depending on the size that you want, have the same basic lock plate shapes and again, could be modified to reflect this era. But, it would be some extreme modifications.

You might check with Caywood, as they have some French locks that are earlier and might be more easily modified to fit.

Hope this helps.
