All,

Has anyone seen the new "English Gentleman's Sporting Rifle" kit from Chambers? It's featured on the home page at http://flintlocks.com . I'd love to hear people's opinions of it!

For a set of pictures of the original early 18th century British rifle on which Jim based his recreation see George Shumway,"Rifles of Colonial America" Vol. I PP.63-65, the William Turvey rifle. It's more ornate in its furniture and carving than the kit but the basic architecture is there. It looks like a great kit.

You're right,it should have read PP.63-67 and there is no P.68.Any way it's a great rifle and a fine looking kit.

Charlie,

I have one, but so far only inlet the barrel to prevent warping.
Not sure when I'm going to get around to it. Just got too many other projects going.

It is a beautiful design for a hunting rifle. Short, compact and extremely comfortable.
