I've had my eyes peeled for something to carry my new bear rifle in and figured I'd ask what you folks are using.
Thanks
Steve

My bear rifle (if I was going to hunt bear) is a .54 caliber plains rifle with a hooked breach. When I need to take it anywhere, I remove the barrel and put both the stock and barrel in an aluminum case that I have for use when traveling with a rifle. The fit very nicely side by side.

What kind of case are you wanting pictures of? I carry mine in plastic foam lined case while driving to rendezvous. At the rendezvous site I usually have them in either a canvas case or cloth lined wool sleeve. I have seen some fancy leather fringed ones also.

For most events I just put my rifles in a wool or soft plastic case. (yes, I know, don't leave in the plastic case for very long)
For shipping and long distance transportation, I have a heavy duty aluminum case. Being for my long rifle, the case is very long and very-akward to handle and store. Sorry, it is in the garage and I'm too lazy to dig it out for a pic. :(

Thanks guys. I've seen some very cool vintage leather and canvas "cases". I imagine they aren't the best for protection but they look great. Some of the leather cases have great markings on them.
Figure I'll take my time and find the right one for me, buts its nice to see what folks who've been working withis equipment for years.
Thanks again
Steve

I use an aluminum case that my son in law brought to me. He brought it to my house and asked if I thought I could use this.
He works for a local company that does maintenance on all the machines for a chain of hospitals. This particular machine would have cost more to fix than it was too replace it, so after throwing away the machine he brought home the case!

My mind immediately went to this would make a great gun case! When I laid it on it's side to open it he said, as I was opening it, "it may give you the willys when you see the inside! It use to house a proctologist's scope.

After relining the foam inside and makeing a new cut out for my rifle it works great!
