Has anyone ever seen the knife/hawk combo that the guy who is squatted down is wearing? Or where to get one or have any plans to make one. Im about to try and wing it to make one.

Hard to tell by the pic if the sheaths are one piece or not. The shade of leather looks a little different. Or, are they just in the belt together? Sorry, can't help more.

YOu can make a combined scabbard for both a knife and a hawk, but the extra leather adds to the total weight you are carrying on your belt, and prevents you from moving the two weapons apart for certain carrying conditions.

Some of the guys in my local gun club tried this years ago, but replaced the combination scabbard with individual sheaths after using the thing for awhile. All complained of the extra weight, and the lack of flexibility in how and where they carried the weapons. ( Sitting down can be a real problem for that fellow in the picture, for instance. Even if he removes the hawk and knife he still has that heavy knife scabbard sticking in the ground or his back :shocked2: when he sits. That's probably why he's kneeling, NO? :hmm:  )

IMHO after zooming in on the pic the throwing knife is in a belt scabard and the hawk is tucked in behind that in the belt.

I think LHunter is right. The knife sheath is flat. If the hawk were in the same sheath it's handle would definitely make an impression in the leather. Also, the angle of the hawk head means that its handle would need a lot more leather in the sheath!

And as Paul pointed out, wearing such a thing would be a real drag in more ways than one. And what, after all, would be the advantage? It would certainly take a lot more time to get at and take either knife or hawk out of the sheath.

Save yourself a lot of wasted time and money - get involved in a project that makes more sense and ultimately would give you more satisfaction.
