Quite honestly, this thread was unnecessary and potentially damaging to a great builder. As usual, his response was classy, honest, and direct. I move that this entire thread be deleted and you carry on your business with Roy in private and away from this public forum.

There's some merit in what you write, but this wasn't an action I took lightly or without a great deal of thought. As I wrote above I have purchased two from Roy already and consider them prized possessions.

I also think of Roy as a friend, though he might feel otherwise after this. Ultimately, however, business is business. This was the only way I could find to get in touch. I think Roy himself would admit communication has been lacking.

Hopefully this is just a bump in a very talented builder's career.

No need for explanation or apologies, just delete what is now an unnecessary thread.

Moderator now that there has been a communication link between the two parties..Lock this posting and they can take it off line to a private venue!!!!
If there is anyone out there that has not fallen on hard time good on you,,, just don't get to comfortable,, it's just around the corner,,

Unfortunately there does seem to be a valid reason for this thread to be ongoing. In spite of what may have been posted it's now Saturday the 22nd of November, and I still have not been able to speak with Roy.

I have tried literally several times a day since the last post to get some response, and have gotten nothing. Sorry, but after over 3-1/2 years I must keep this in the public venue.

And because I am not the only one in this situation I owe it to everyone to try to get Roy to do the right thing.

Roy, please get in touch with me. Better yet, just send what I paid for. As soon as I receive my gun you won't have to worry about these posts.

Until then, you will.

Trench, I don't know about having me removed as a moderator, but this topic will disappear as soon as my 3-1/2 year ongoing issue is resolved. My gun or my money. That's all it'll take.

Simple.

How do we get moderators with bad form removed?
I'll tell you again, the same thing you were told in a private message...

Being a Moderator doesn't have anything to do with him being mislead and taken advantage of by a business.

Quite often people will inquire about businesses and the members will offer their opinions and experiences. This is no different.

If a business is taking advantage of more than one Forum member, it's good for the muzzleloading community to know about it.

If the members are allowed to praise a business, because of their good service, they should also be allowed to post the other side of that coin.

Here, here!

I suspect that many don't know that this is not a one time happening.

I know of two of our members who are in exactly the same boat.

I truly hope there are not more but if their are, it wouldn't surprise me.

I'm surprised to hear all this. I just had communication with him two weeks ago. I hope everyone gets the follow-up they need.

Sorry to read the problem is on going ,, read Roys' last posting and it read as if the mess was taken care of ,,

Reads like this is not a one time event ,,, I agree,,, get the word out and let the chips fall where they may ,,, brought it all on himself ,, good or bad ,,

Might get in touch with Homesteader and let him know how you accomplished that.....

Trench did send me a nice note, thanks for that. Unfortunately I still haven't been able to get in touch with Roy, in spite of trying almost daily. :(

Until something happens I can't see an alternative to keeping it in the public eye. I hope I can eventually tell everyone that Roy comes through.

I'll keep the forum in the loop.

It is a shame to see a man of great talent and previously impeccable reputation fall do far but stuff happens to everyone. Public or private Mr Stroh does not seem to be doing anything effective to address the issues. I would say the ball is firmly in his court, if he can't produce the gun at least refund the money or work out refund payment terms. To just ignore the obligation, or claim stuff is getting in the way, is not a satisfactory response.

Other forum members deserve to know this is happening so they don't hand over a big chunk of change based on the old reputation. It is one of the great benefits of the Internet that information can be shared widely and freely. This isn't like two people arguing over the quality of work done, this is clearly a failure to deliver over a long time, despite having full payment in hand.

Thanks for letting all of us avoid the pain you are going through.

I would stay on the AOM web site !!!! might be the motivation he needs to step up ti the mark ..
