Just finished this pouch for a Christmas present.
It is based off the one in Gussler's collection and featured in his article in the latest Muzzle Blasts as well as Jim Mullins' book "OF Sorts for Provincials".
Another friend of mine who is a full time maker has made a super one as well. I wanted to use an old family harness buckle so my strap attachments are different from the original.
Has anyone else made a version of this one yet?

Yes- good job- on the front part of the bag- was it cut the same size as the back or was it cut a little larger so as to billow out? I've done bags where the front and back were the same size and if I have the stitches on the outside the two halves are sort of flat and together and it doesn't seem there is that much room inside. I therefore have sewn inside out but I'm not sure how pc that is since most old bags show the stitches on the outside.

Crockett, same size front and back. I wet the front and lay it face up and fill it til dry. This will keep the back flat and the front puched out more.
Most of those early pouches seem to have been small as they did not carry the kitchen sink. I guess this was all the size they needed.

Trucker, that's a nice one. Lemuel Leman style?
