So I have an early TC kit rifle but the stock has seen better days. It has some annoying chips knocked out of it. Anyone here or do you know of anyone that can repair this and refinish the wood without the buttplate sticking out?

Sounds like a chip out of the toe, easy to fix, glue in some wood and add a toeplate to cover it up. My TC kit chipped out the same way, here is my fix;

"the buttplate sticking out" sure sounds like the stock's been over sanded at least once - which would also require grinding/polishing the BP to match..

To prevent the buttplate from ‘sticking out’ you need to do any sanding with it attached.

Greg,
Not sure where you are located, but you need to find someone local to you.
The labor and shipping costs would be well over what the gun is worth in many cases.
