Anybody have a source for a new tang for an Ardesa 12 gauge? I have not had any luck looking. Thanks.

The Ardessa 12 gauge is sold in Europe and this outfit is a large distributor, maybe they can help.
The top of the left column says "Hege E-Mail" and many Germans speak English as a second language. If they can't get you one, then maybe they can refer you to someone who can.

BTW, is your model a single or double barrel?

Thanks for the tip arcticap. I'll check 'em out.

It's a single barrel, but all I have is the barrel. I was thinkin' maybe I'd try and build me one... :hmm: Seems like the best way to go about it would be with the tang that fits the barrel.

Years ago I tried calling Ardessa and was told that there were no parts for the 12 ga. shotgun that were available. If I remember right he said that something like only 1200 to 1600 were made only 600 complete shotguns made it to USA. It has been a while and I may have my facts mixed up. Anybody can correct me And I will not be upset. A very light shotgun, but is might pretty. I have bought 3 barrels over the years very cheap. They made more barrels than complete shotguns it seemed. The last barrel I got from Traditions for $25, I paid the shipping.

Hey Joe,
What did you end up doing with those barrels? Did you build guns around them? Got any tips?

I got them as spares, each one had to be fitted to the shotgun tang. That was something else I found out each shotgun was hand fitted together, so barrels and shotguns were mated. The barrels I bought were replacements.I looked at building another stock and was told that each barrel added value to shotgun too much to break apart.
Before that I talked to a stockmaker and he could make me a stock but I had to find a tang to match barrel etc. The price was, well let me put it like this I could buy a TVM smoothbore kit cheaper. So I prety much quit looking. IF you could fing a traditions stock that had a lock and tang you could possibly mate it.
I had thoughts of making a fixed tang and mating it to a traditions stock with percussion lock.
With a fixed tang it could be adjusted for lock hammer alignment. This a way you could still use the tang trigger screw. Anybody want to Jump in let us know.
Good luck.

Thanks for your tips Joe.
Maybe I should ask what to do over on the builders forum... :hmm:
I wonder what the breech plug threads are... :hmm: Maybe just replace the whole dang breech assembly.
