If any of y'all are nearby--the annual Pinnacle Mountain rondy west of Little Rock is on this Fri-Sun. Actually early campers are probably showing up tonight or tommorrow. The rondy had 94 camps last year--usually in two sections. One for Native American camp and one for "others". Pre-1840 rules--you will see everything from Mountain Men back through F&I War personas. The EARA sponsors the event and it is set in a very pretty state park--the camps are in a meadow overlooked by the sharp pinnacles of quartzite that give the park its name, just south of the Arkansas River. There are usually a good set of vendors/sutlers--and a more modern area for touristas down the trail. It is kinda touristy [about 9000 visitors last year], but it is a nice day trip if you don't want to camp...good folks. Details for camping can be had form either the EARA or the park [google for info]....
