Meats meat and I’ve tried lots of wild food but I was going to try both armadillo and opossum several time. Could never get it in to the pot.
Both have been too nasty for me to try
Spiders snakes and and most bugs I can handle. But I’ll kill any armadillo I see

Can’t tell ya anything about armadillos but, I did eat a possum once. One mornin’ my Rott/Dobie was layin’ at one end of the porch couch and the 1/2 grown possum he thought he killed was hunkered down at the other end hissin’ and clickin’ his teeth. Got my Benjamin pellet gun & gave him a mild sedative & after I got him dressed out asked Granny how they cooked’em. She said parboil it then put in a pan with stuffin’ in & around it. Baked it up nice & brown pulled off a leg & chomped down. The taste was about like squirrel or groundhog but as mentioned above, it was the greasiest thing I ever tasted. It was like ya dipped it lard. Had to pick the meat off & press it between paper towels to get it where I could eat it. My dog, ‘Goofy’ didn’t seem to mind the grease in his half.
