Armi San Paolo 1860 Army revolver

I figure there are some people here that might be interested in this...

I saw this guy listed for sale, and I just had to have it! It turned out to be in very good condition - locks up tight and the timing is just about perfect!

I was able to get it out to the range a few days ago, and I am very happy with the results.

Made a little video - hope you like it.

Nice looking revolver. BTW, it has a short arbor. It'll probably group even better when that's fixed.

Hadn't even thought about checking the arbor. Did all Armi San Paolo's have short arbors?

Yes.
Every reproduction ever made, including Colt 2nd gens, have short arbors. Only late model Piettas are correct.

That's one I've always had my eye on. The design is very sleek and accuracy is a non-issue, It'll do even better than that from a bench. I'm jealous!

Every reproduction ever made, including Colt 2nd gens, have short arbors. Only late model Piettas are correct.

Very nice, some times you just have to help the cylinder timing rotation a little. Grouping is very good how many grains of powder was your charge.

Finger OFF the trigger UNTIL your target is in you sights. Excellent video otherwise, but SAFETY is foremost. I DID try to make my comment in a humorous way.

What a great find and beautiful scroll work!! That is one fine looking 1860 indeed so congratulations.
If I may suggest to get Slixshot nipples that will greatly reduce the cap issue. It also helps if the gun is pointed a bit high on cylinder rotation to help the spent cap roll off.

Thank you. I do use Slixshot nipples on my revolvers that see a lot of use, and I'm a big fan of them. Not sure if this revolver uses the Uberti thread pitch or the Pietta for the nipples. I'll have to try both styles and see if one of them works.
